The stench of nacho cheese permeated the air. Within the small “studio” – in actuality a messy basement room – there lay a Wal-Mart Classic F90 guitar, complete with five tuning pegs (one was subject to a fatal bowling accident) and a pick haphazardly lodged between three of the strings. The beige acrylic paint on the body was chipping off slowly, the process having been sped up by the guitarist’s bored scratching.   
In a ten degree angle was the microphone stand from its base, having been abused by constant thrashing, the operative end lodged into the top. There w The Den of the Eskimo Hunters

I drifted in and out of paying attention to my surroundings as I sat in that room. The chair was soft, a pillowy soft material that absorbs the weight perfectly. But there’s something under the soft material, something in the inside of the chair that had a way of uncomfortably pressing against the coccyx when one first sat down. Constant neurotic adjusting was needed to achieve comfort.  
 
 It was a rather large room, and there were quite a few people here. There were some people there who looked very smart, very able. A girl grabbed my attention as one of them. I cou could see eternity

I watched with a serene half-mindedness as the painted Grisaille clouds ran past overhead, scarcely visible while laid on the black canvas of the abyss. The speed of clouds was always faster during a storm, something that could hold my interest in and of itself about the fantastic phenomenon. Out of the corner of my eye I glimpsed every so often an uncommon firefly which would make itself known briefly by lighting itself, and as soon as my attention was caught, the blaze blinked out and left the small hill as soon as it had arrived. Grand was the spectacle to be beheld here. Here stood a line of genuine rosewood instruments with beautiful resonance, complemented by pristine metallophones, stately timpani, bass drums angled at the perfect angle toward the imaginary audience. Fifteen of us stood at attention behind our instruments, mallets confidently held toward the ground from our waist, bodies fully upright, each one of us a sage of an art form practiced since antiquity. The light struck the cymbals at an angle that was both attractive and slightly distracting, but we dare not move, as there was no overwhelming reason to move.

Two weeks later...

~brynalin and I are now a couple. You can blame her for me paying any attention to this site. Perhaps not. But I mention this because for Halloween, we're going trick-or-treating and customing as real-life, humanoid, dramatized versions of Ursula from the Little Mermaid and Scar from Lion King (respectively). Is that not the best IT IS THE BEST. However, it would be even more the best if she'd accepted my original idea: us going as Billy Mays. Both of us.

I'm workin' on some things.

Cid (FFVII) full pose: pencilwork done. Not sure what to do from here. I might digitally ink it if I ever feel like it. I don't think inking it in real life would work. But I might try after I scan it; why not?

Scar (Lion King) characterization: in planning. It probably won't ever be a real work of art, just some schemes and ideas and crude little sketches.
